We’re finally HOMELESS: But not really

Back in 2020, we had determined that we would pull the trigger to move into our RV full-time and go on the road on April 15th 2020. Then March 2020 happened, we all went into lock down because of the pandemic of Covid-19 and there was an earthquake near our condo, which rocked our building. This all made us re-evaluate whether this was a good time to make a major life change. We determined that is wasn’t. This turned out to be a major blessing that we waited one more year. I was able to play a major role Rootstech 2021, a role that in many ways was perfect for me and I was really needed. We, as a team, did an awesome job and Rootstech 2021 was completely virtual with over 1 million people tuning in. That was amazing and there were so many miracles along the way (but that is another story included in my upcoming book, I Believe in Miracles.).

In October of 2020, we decided to put the condo on the market. The market was really hot and we were excited to get moving on our dream. Covid had delayed us, but it had also allowed me to work remotely and so I planned to continue working. Little did we know that selling our condo at this time would have been a disaster. Life was heating up for me, as my 80+ hour weeks for Rootstech had begun. The Lord looked out for us really well because even though the market was super hot, our condo did not sell by December. I did not want to deal with keeping the condo spotless during the holidays so people could come to view the condo and we did not want to move in the middle of winter and in the middle of my working so much, so we took the condo off the market. This was such a blessing that the condo did not sell, because it would have been very difficult to do the kind of hours and expensive to pay for the amount of bandwidth I needed to work on Rootstech, while living out of our RV. The Lord was so kind to us and He knew better than we did.

Rootstech was February 24-27 and that weekend we put the condo back on the market. Within a week, it had sold for exactly what we wanted for it and with the exact timing and terms that would work great for us. Isn’t that amazing!!! Once again a tender mercy. So on March 22, 2021, we finally became HOMELESS–but not really, because our 2000 Monaco Dynasty (affectionately known as Beast) became our home. The meaning of the word “home” has changed for me after becoming “homeless”. Home is not a house, in fact, it is not a thing at all. It is a feeling. We carry that feeling with us as we travel around in Beast, with Beauty (our Jeep) in tow. It is a feeling of love, acceptance, comfort, peace and joy. That feeling can be with you no matter where you may reside. It is that feeling that makes a house a home. It is that feeling that we remember and reminisce about from our childhood homes. It is that feeling that keeps us longing for our Heavenly Home.

Yes, we are finally HOUSELESS and LOVING IT. But we will never be HOMELESS.
